Advanced-Syntactic Test of Pronominal Reference-Revised (A-STOP-R)
This test assesses syntactic knowledge of pronouns and reflexives (e.g. him/himself).
For example, can the child understand the sentence “The dog says
the cat is touching him”.
Children past the age of 5 or 6 years hardly make any errors in knowing who
is touching who in this sentence. However, children with a language impairment
may not be able to understand this type of sentence because their syntactic
knowledge is limited.
